Fall Trends | Volume 2

I don't know about where you live, but the weather in PA is having a severe PMS strike right now. It is currently 80 degrees out and mid October.. umm what?? Someone get her some chocolate and wine quick!! I have so many cute sweaters and boots I'm being teased with!

Anyway, most of your are probably enjoying your actual Fall weather, but by this weekend, we are suppose to back to normal October temps too! Here is Part of my favorite Fall Trends for 2014. This outfit is perfect for a Saturday pumpkin patch outing or a Sunday brunch with friends. I have recently turned myself on to the colored cords trend. At my job we are allowed to wear whatever we want, but I still like to dress up once in a while and not wear jeans all the time. These cords are perfect paired with a blouse or cable knit sweater. The best part is you can dress them up with flats or heels and still be comfy in boots or sneakers.

What fall trends are you currently loving?

Saturday Morning Coffee | Cold Remedy

It's only the beginning of fall, but I already have my first cold of the season. I wasn't able to stay home and rest, because you know.. life keeps going! So off with my box of aloe tissues, pocket hand sanitizer, and cough drops I went. On Wednesday I had a meeting with a friend/ client about a new business she is starting and wanted some advice.  It turns out she gave me even better advice when she introduced me to a new way to drink tea. I've never been a tea drinker, unless it's a chai latte from Starbucks.. which doesn't really count in my opinion. She told me to make my hot tea of choice and add in a spoonful of honey and sprinkle some cinnamon. I am a believer this helped me feel better!
Cinnamon is a natural blood thinner and so I'm thinking this somehow relates to your sinus's also! (I never said I was a doctor!!)

So this fall and winter season, if you need something to help soothe your throat and open up your congested nose.. I suggest trying some hot tea with cinnamon and honey!
Enjoy!

Semi Homemade Stuffed Shells

Today I'm sharing with you an easy recipe you can share with your family and friends and it will seem like you are a gourmet chef!Okay, maybe not gourmet.. but they will think differently about your cooking after trying these.  Stuffed shells have always been to me one of those dreaded recipes, thinking they always took lots of prep and cook time, that I do not have. Until I actually made them that is! Here is an easy recipe that you could prep on a Sunday night and make for Monday dinner when your time is pressed!

Ingredients:

1 box Jumbo Shells ( I used Barilla)
2 cloves garlic
1 container (15 ounces) Ricotta cheese
4 cups shredded Mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
1/2 cup parsley flakes
1 jar (26 ounces) spaghetti sauce

Directions:

Cook your shells according to package.  Mix together garlic, ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, Parmesean cheese, parsley and egg.  In a pan, spread sauce to cover bottom of dish. Once shells are cooked fill with cheese mixture and place on top of sauce open part up.  Cover with sauce and remaining 2 cups of Mozzarella.  Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes. Let sit before serving!

Fall Trends 2014

This past weekend I went shopping and it also dropped in temperature by 20 degrees. But with the temp dropping means sweaters, boots and chuncky scarfs. I have officially found my fall uniform for this season.

I purchased similar black boots a DSW while it was still warm, but already had planned so many outfits in my head! This outfit being one of them. I purchased the old navy shirt and new this would be a go to for running errands, going to the pumpkin patch and drinks with friends. The JCrew Winnie pants were a great buy at the Factory store being on sale for 40% off plus I had a coupon for an additional 15% off. and a chuncky scarf.. well I just can't get enough of them during these cool days!
I was so excited to hear about a new website  that you can buy gifts cards at a discounted price. And we all know during the holiday's we get gift cards to places we typically never use, but now you can sell them too! Just some food for thought since we all have that one person you never know what gift to get!

Stitch Fix Box | October

Disclaimer: I apologize in advanced for the blurriness of the photos. You do not need to readjust your eyes. My dslr was playing mean mean tricks on me when taking these photos. All is better now but didn't realize they were blurred until I edited them. Soo.. lo siento much amigas!

I have received my September Stitch Fix box.. and I really enjoyed it this month! I ended up purchasing just one shirt due to having similar pieces already in my collection or sizing issues. But liked most all the items!
This strip 3/4 sleeve shirt is perfect. I love the button details on the arm to roll your sleeves up. It's also vneck which I am very fond of . It also is stripes and if you hang around here often you know my love for them.

This crochted navy dress is just darling. However over summer I attended a wedding in which I wore the same color and crocheted print to. This makes me so sad, because I love the style of this dress way more then the one I actually wore.

This shirt is to die for! So girly and looks great paired with shorts or jeans.  However, the sleeves did not fit me right so I had  to send it back. Insert sad face emoji.

This was the only item in the box I despised. The way it crossed in the front made me looked beyond blotted and i dare say pregnant. I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror with it on let alone take an outfit picture!

Such a cute gold distressed necklace, but once again I already have a piece very similar to this. I was very surprised at the price of this necklace only being $28! This was probably the cheapest piece I have seen yet!

Saturday Morning Coffee | Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Manicure

Good Morning Dollfaces! It's rainy and dreary here in PA, but something that always puts me in a good mood is a fresh mani. I like to keep my nails natural. When I was in high school and a good portion of college (when I could afford it) I had acrylic tips on my nails.  I always thought I had 'boy nails' as I called them and thought my nail beds or so ugly. Maybe I thought this because I'll admit it.. I'm a nail biter! I never had naturally long nails and when then would start to get somewhat above the nail bed they would break due to sports and being so brittle.  And then the invention of GEL MANICURES happened. It was like God's gift to my nail beds. I was able to keep my natural nail and make a manicure last longer then the day after my spa visit.  I don't know how pricing is around your neck of the woods, but around me you will also have to fork out between $25- $40 for a well performed gel manicure. While picking up a prescription at CVS the display of nail polish perfectly positioned for my eyes it seems caught my attention. They had on sale this new gel manicure polish for BOGO FREE so I thought.. Hey, mine as well purchase it- it's on sale!  About a week later I remembered I had this when I thought about going to the salon for a manicure.

I must say I was quite surprised with how smooth it went on. The brush is thick and flat, a lot like the professional brands at salons.  Directions read to apply two coats and then the top coat. The color I applied however was pretty light after two coats so I added an additional one.  Coat it completely with the top coat and immediately remove any excess on your cuticles.. it will be hard to remove afterward.
The look is pretty similar to that of a professional manicure. The hardest part for me was doing my opposite hand, but then again I was that same problem with regular polish!

It seems to be lasting pretty well so far after two days of wear and tear on my poor little fingers. I will be sure to give you an update in a few days how the polish seems to be lasting!

Now I would like to introduce you to a series I am starting called Saturday Morning Coffee with Ashley
The idea of Saturday Morning Coffee with Ashley is to bring you something to think about for yourself. Take a moment every Saturday morning and do one thing for you. Even if you take 5 minutes to just breathe while sipping your coffee.. do something you enjoy.

Happy Mail Partner Reveal Day

Happy October Friends! I can't believe it's already Fall and October! Here in PA the leaves have already started changing and falling.. which is beautiful yet sad at the same time. I love the Fall with all the decor, colors, and smells, but hate it at the same time because that means winter is right around the corner.

About 2 months ago I signed up as a Happy Mail Partner through Pink On The Cheek.  I was so excited to find out who my partner was and to get to know her more! We chatted through email a little bit and I of course stalked her on social media! And today I'm happy to show you what goodies Kendra sent me!
