Five on Friday- on a MONDAY

Oh Friday.. you are my favorite! It's crazy to think there are only a few Summer Friday's left in this year. In PA the weather typically stays nice until sometimes into October, but just knowing it isn't considered Summer after August makes me sad.

This weekend we have plans for dinner Saturday night, so the boys favorite baby sitter is coming over, and Sunday we have brunch reservations with friends that live in California!

Here are some highlights from our week!

one..

I recently received my fall order for my shop. In case you missed it, in the beginning of Summer, I took a leap and started my own online clothing and accessories boutique - Bellisima by Ashley Maria

Anyway, it has already grown so much, that I am running out of room! I am moving to a bigger warehouse space in order to be more organized, hold more inventory and keep growing! Super excited for the future with this little shop of mine!

two..

Speaking of my shop, I am currently getting ready for my first Pop Up Shop ever! I'm super excited, but also not getting my hopes up at the same time.

three..

I am in full on Disney mood getting all this things around for our Disney trip so soon. we leave in a little more then two weeks, so I am preparing all the outfits, accessories and extras! I just got in the cutest shoes for the boys to wear.

How cute are the Minnie ones!!
four..

Even though I am getting excited for all the Fall things, I miss watching the sunset on the pool deck. These sunsets at our house never get old!

five..

With so much going on in this world, I invite you to pray. Doesn't matter who you pray to, or what god you worship- if any. There is new disasters every day, turmoil in other countries and still so much uncertainty with this pandemic. We need to all come together and pray for the world to heal.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and looking forward to a great week!

Star Spangled Gender Reveal

During the Fourth of July weekend, we threw our best friends a gender reveal party to celebrate their second baby. Since it was during the holiday, we came up with the idea of doing a Star Spangled Baby theme!

Instead of wearing typical pink and blue we requested everyone wear red or blue to cast your vote.

We wish the weather was a little better- it was drizzling on and off all day, But it turned out perfect for them!

Summer 2021 Update

I want to first apologize for giving my blog not the attention I would like. Right now the balance of working full time in the office, schedules of the boys, my online boutique and Summer, of course this is the space that gets no attention! But I wanted to pop in and give you an update on our Summer so far!

This weekend we have ZERO plans and I am so excited to clean (never thought I would say that!) hang with Joe and the kids and swim in the pool. We have not had a weekend free all month- so this is going to be so nice!

May..

Memorial Day came and went. It was a cold Memorial Day weekend. We initially had plans to have a party Sunday for friends and family, but with the impending forecast, we decided to push it back to Monday. Like every Memorial Day for the past few years, the boys and I went up to the cemetery where my grandparents are buried for the Memorial Day ceremony. Joey loves when the local Legion does the gun salute. I can remember as a kid, going to search for the shells after the ceremony! Once it was finished we headed back home to have friends over. I hated that the next day was a work day though, so we weren't all able to hang out too late.

June..

On June 4 Joe and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! I can't believe our wedding was 5 years ago! So much has happened in five years.. Two houses, two kids, new cars, job promotions, new opportunities, losses but yet sooooo many happy memories! it's crazy to think about.. We went back to where we had our wedding reception- Hotel Bethlehem for dinner and Joey's pre-school teacher baby sat for us. It was the fist time someone other family watched this kids for us. They had so much fun, we will definitely be using her again!

The baseball season wrapped up for Joey and since Joe was the head coach we decided to do the end of the year party for all the boys at our house. We are super proud of Joey for sticking it out all season (he was the youngest on the team) and even asked to play again in the Fall!

Another exciting thing happened in June.. my mother in law closed on her house just a block away and officially moved in! It is so nice having someone walking distance to help with the boys. I am so so grateful we have my parents, but they are 30 minutes away. We are now getting spoiled being able to call her to come watch the boys or dropping them off when we need to run quick errands!

We all attended the local food truck festival and ate way to much trying something from each one and Joe started his softball league, so I brought the boys to one of his games and we tailgated in the back of the car with McDonald's!

Joe and I attended a friend from College's wedding that was postponed from last year and it was fun to get together with everyone for an adult weekend and we visited the Easton Farm's Market- the fresh smoothies were a big hit!

July.. was busy!

We had threw a gender reveal party for our best friends from college. This was kinda bittersweet because they are moving in a few weeks to Myrtle Beach for work purposes. We've lived six houses apart for the last two on top of being friends for so long.

We decided to do our annual Fourth of July party on Sunday and had friends and neighbors over for it. Joe and I both had off on Monday to observe the holiday, so we brought the boys up to my parents so that we could get things around the house done. We are in the process of completing our basement, so we moved a bunch of stuff back down to the basement that was in the garage.

The following Saturday we celebrated our friends son's 3rd birthday early with a construction theme party at their house. It was their last weekend in the house so we stayed up late, laughed, cried, and talked about future plans to visit them! Sunday, we had our neighbors 5th Birthday party at a gymnastics center. Joey had so much fun. It was his first birthday party with just kids (parents stayed during the party, but didn't participate) and he felt like such a big kid! After the party, we hurried off to the ball park by my parents house for a cousin of mine graduation party from High School. There were a bunch of high schools playing basketball on the courts, and Joey being the youngest there went right over and started playing with them. It warmed my heart seeing some of the older kids taking the time to play with him. When we got home, Joe had already started cooking for our big 'family dinner' we planned for our friends that were moving. We made meatballs, sausage, pasta, garlic bread, salads and a good red wine! It was the perfect farewell dinner.

We also took our annual Long Beach Island trip, which you can read about here.

The Big Time was held again this year, however it look different, because we did not do the funnel cake stand. Joe and I had a wedding on Friday & Saturday and we couldn't find any volunteers to work the stand for us. Instead of allowing us to open on Wednesday & Thursday, the committee made the decision to not open it at all- which we were bummed about.

You can read about our previous years here: 20162018, 2019

Like I said before, Joe and I went to Massachusetts for a wedding of Joe's friend from High School. One the way there we stopped at Tree House Brewing.  It was about another hour and a half away from there still. When we got to the hotel, we had to quickly get ready for the rehearsal dinner. Saturday was the wedding and Joe had things to do during the day with the other groomsman. Even though all the girls said we would make plans, we all had decided to just do nothing and take the time to just lounge around sans kids and husbands! The shuttle took us to the venue and the views were stunning! It was on top of a mountain and overlooked miles and miles of trees. It was a beautiful wedding and weekend!

Long Beach Island 2021

*contains affiliate links

I can't believe Summer is already coming to close - YES we still have technically a month or more, but a lot of schools are getting back in session. Thankfully, we were able to fit our annual beach trip for a long weekend this year. We've had a lot of weddings that were postponed from last year, parties, and events this Summer- so a little breakaway was nice!

We stayed at the same motel we were in two years ago when we went down to the island. It was so quaint and we were lucky to snag a first floor end room, so it was bigger then the typical rooms! The pack and play we brought for Vinny to sleep in, fit perfect!

Here's our yearly recap!

Thursday

Joe and I left work early and packed up the car. We picked up Joey from school, dropped Charger off at the sitter and headed to pick up Vinny at my parents. Like our previous LBI trips, we stopped for dinner on the way down at one of our favorites- Frankie Fed's. The boys got pasta and Joe and I split the Lisa Fed Pizza and the Portuguese clams and Mussels. Everything was so good as always! After dinner we headed back on the road to get to the hotel.

Vinny did not do so hot that first night. In fact we were up most of the night taking turns walking him or driving him around the island to fall asleep. Finally around 3am he decided to give in and fall asleep in the pack and play. Both boys woke around 6ish the next morning so that was super..

Friday

We hung in the room for a little and watched some cartoons until the restaurant opened to go for breakfast. Of course we were the first ones there, because ya know kids.. We went to a favorite- The Blue Water Café. The boys both had pancakes, Joe had an omelet and I had stuffed French toast. This place never disappoints!

Once we finished breakfast, we headed back to the hotel to change around and get ready for the beach. Once the kids were changed around, and we loaded up the cart, we walked to the beach. We packed two beach chairs for us- but if you have gone to the beach with young kids before, you know these are not needed!! This beach blanket is a favorite because the sand brushes right off, and beach umbrella. We purchased this tent, but didn't actually use it this time, sand toys and mesh bag for them, kids beach chair, a small cooler with drinks and SNACKS! Some things I packed in my beach bag: towels for each person + two extra to wipe sand. Sunscreen for face ( I use this for the boys), plus a spray can for easy reapplication. I also have a small pack of wipes to wipe off hands or face and baby powder to shack the sand off feet before putting on shoes.

We stayed on the beach for a few hours, and decided to head to the motel pool. Since Vinny decided not to sleep the night before, we could tell he was beat. I brought him to the room try and nap. To my complete surprise he went right down! Joe stayed in the pool with Joey for a while until surprising he asked to come take a nap too! Both boys slept at the same time (which NEVER happens for about a good hour, so we were able to shower and hang on the balcony for a while alone.

Once they awoke and we got ready, we headed to our dinner reservation at Tuckers Tavern. We love the atmosphere and it's so kid friendly. After dinner we headed to Fantasy Island to ride some rides and play games. I got Vinny settled for bed, while Joe brought Joey for ice cream. Luckily both boys had much better night sleep.

Saturday

We started with one our favorite grab and go places the Local and were able to grab a table outside on the patio. They have the best coffee's and pastries. After breakfast we headed to the shops in Bay Village to shop a little. Vinny actually feel asleep in the car, so Joe stayed with him while Joey came in and out of the shops with me.

For the rest of the day we went to my father in laws shore house which is about 20 minutes away. The boys went on the boat with my father in law and both of them loved it. We went to dinner with them and back to the house for drinks before heading back to the island.

Sunday

Joe grabbed bagels at the local place next door. I packed up the room and allllll the things- you would think we stayed a week! We wanted to get a head start on traffic. We stopped at the Ron Jon Store on the way off the island and headed home. When we got home, we picked up Charger from the sitter and unpacked the car. We were lucky enough that my mother in law made us dinner that night!

It was another great family trip in the books in LBI!
