VMA 2013 Winners & Losers

By now, I'm sure you have watched the VMA's (considering it has played on MTV 20 times since Sunday night) or have seen the god awful pictures of Miley on Yahoo! So what did I think of the night.. I couldn't wait for my all time favorite 5 guys to hit the stage.. but leading up to that- well to say the least I wanted to put nails in my eyes..
My childhood was relived. Amy and I were waiting patiently for these gentlemen to hit the stage!!
BEST:
This dress was stunning on Rita Ora.  Critics said it was inappropriate considering she wasn't nominated. WHO CARES. You look gorgeous!!
Robin Thicke got my vote for best dressed Male.  Now about that performance..
This color was perfect for Selena. It left a little to the imagination with that corset and slit up the front!

WORST:
I thought she looked better when she wore the purple jump suit with a boob hanging out.

I love leopard print. It's a known fact.. but this..NO and what's with her grill. Come on Katy!!

Besides her performance being a complete freak show.. Get with the program Miley. You look hideous.

What did you think of Sunday nights fashion??

Support & Love

These next two weeks are what I like to call my 'Hell Week' I have no one else to blame but myself, and I think that is because I have a problem saying NO.  Yes I work full time, Yes I co-own and coach at an all star cheerleading gym, Yes I am the new head cheerleading coach at a college. Do I have a social life you ask?? hmm.. I'm starting to think not! This past weekend was a whirl wind of running around from gym to gym, purchasing uniforms, teaching new skills and lack of sleep.  I finally got to sit down and create this post and what came to mind... Well at first nothing.. but then- Joe. He has stood behind me in every crazy things I've come up with this past 3 & 1/2 years.  When I don't have time and get cranky he is still there.  Sunday, I had so many things going on, but we surprised me with breakfast and flowers for a good luck for my first practice as Head Coach. And also two kind bars for the times throughout the day I didn't have time to eat! What a guy!!! He holds my heart <3

August// Birch Box

It has arrived.. the August Birch Box..

Curly Hair Solutions, Curl Keeper>> Today would have been the perfect day to use this, considering there are tornado warnings, but just wasn't feeling the curls! I will be trying this product this weekend though!
Whish, Deodrant Wipes>> Used these this past weekend at the Kenny Chesney concert.. surprising worked pretty well!
Whish, Body Wash>>  Always on the market for new body washes, this has a good smell to it also!
OC8, Magnifying Gel>> We all know my thoughts on face products.. But, hey maybe one of these days I'll get brave and try one!!
Cailyn,Gel Eyeliner>> I'm not to keen on gel eyeliner, it just doesn't work to well for my shakey hands.  I prefer a solid with a smearing stick attached- this way my lines don't look to messed up!
Ann Taylor, Coupon>> My boyfriends mom works for Ann Taylor.. No Coupons Needed-enough said haha

All in all.. this was not my favorite box to say the least. The only product I may purchase is the deodrant wipes.  What did you receive in your box?? How did you like it?

Style Review ~ American Eagle Outfitters

If you know me personally, then you know I used to work for American Eagle many many years!! When I first started working for the company back in the day (I started when I was 16) the style definitely has changed. AE used to be known for the basics and neutral colors. From time to time I stumble upon their website or stop into a store to see what the latest trends are.  Here are some of my picks from their newest Back to School line.. All items can be found on their website ae.com

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

My great Uncle, who lives across the street from my parents has a garden every year.  Well let me tell you, summer just wouldn't be summer without tomatoes, peppers, & of course zucchini being left on our front porch! This year zucchini was being brought over out the wazoo!! So I went to work with one of the large zucchini's I had and made this delicious alternative to normal chocolate cake

Ingredients

1/2 cups shredded raw zucchini
1 cup flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
2 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetableoil
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease (or spray with a nonstick vegetable spray) a 9 x 5 x 3 inch (23 x 13 x 8 cm)loaf pan.
Grate the zucchini, using a medium sized grater & set aside.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Then fold in the chocolate chips.
In another large bowl whisk the eggs. Then add the oil, sugars, and vanilla extract and whisk until well blended. Fold in the grated zucchini. Then fold into the flour mixture, stirring just until combined. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and bake until the bread has risen and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.  Place on wire rack to cool for about 10 minutes.

Best part of this bread, it can be frozen and lasts a couple days!!

Gold Prints

Last week I posted this, and was in need of some inspiration for my new apartment.  Well I definitely found some! Upon looking on Etsy, I found some great gold foil prints- however with all of them being $20+, I wasn't looking to spend that much. The light bulb went off and realized 'I can DIY this!!' Using the Etsy prints I found, I went to work on my design program

From the Dollar Store (my new favorite place) I picked up these $1 frames, with the intention of spray painting them all the same color gold.

Since I don't have the appropriate gold foil look, I used the next best thing GLITTER
There's the spray paint I decided not to use on the frames!

Using a fine tip glue pen, I traced the outline of the words & designs I wanted to pop with glitter

I chose not to spray paint the frames. I liked the way they were mismatched and different gold finishes

Find a home for them and add extra gold accessories- I chose to add a gold 'A' and possibly some mirrors!
