Chevron Banner

Ya know that party I am planning?! Well this is another decoration I am making for it! I got an inspiration from a collaboration of Pintrest and Etsy.  I figured I could make these, and it would be fun! Can't show you the final project just quite yet, but look for posts next week on it!

Begin by making a pattern of the size banner you want it to be.
I chose to use a yellow chevron card stock to match the parties theme.

Using stencils, I traced the letters onto a black chevron print that will definitely
stand out  against the yellow.

Using a glue stick, attach to the pennant.

Use a hole puncher to make holes to loop string through in order to hold up the banner.

Be creative with the banner and have it say anything you want! I also made a banner out of burlap and paint with below as my inspiration!

You can also get templates for letters out of card stock here.

Let me know how you customized your banner!

25 years later

Well it came and passed. With how busy I have been the last few days/weeks I kept forgetting my birthday was coming up.  Why is it that when you are younger you count down every minute/ hour/ second until your big day? To me this year.. it was just another day. I think it was a bigger event for my friends then for me!! On Friday at work, I received flowers in the morning from my bosses. When the florist delivered them, not gonna lie I was a little stunned! I don't mind getting gifts at all or being catered to, however just another Saturday in my book. So what did I get for my Birthday you ask?!
From my Parents- Marc Jacobs gold & teel watch
From Brooke- Pandora champagne rope bracelet with cupcake charm

From the Boy- Louie Vuitton Cross Body bag.. GORGEOUS!!!

Workout Attire

I began a new workout routine recently and I firmly believe that when starting a new anything it's 'Out with the old & in with the NEW'
Of course I would find the best shorts at none other than Target! These shorts are great because of the tight form fitting under short perfect for all those squats and leg presses at the gym!

I also purchased a couple pairs of capri leggings from Kohls which are perfect for those bit chilly night time workouts!

C9 by Champion® Women's Fit and Flare Tank - Assorted Colors
These tops are also perfect for those "bloated" days.. not too tight yet not baggy! This is a bra like top with draw string bottom. Found here at Target

What are some routines you are beginning?

DIY- Glass Painting

This weekend was filled with design creativity and LOTS of DIY's! I purchases these glass beer mugs at the Dollar Store and they truly were $1.00!!! I purchased the Martha Stewart Stencils at Michael's for only $8.00 with their 50% off coupon over the weekend!! Martha Stewart paints also bought at Michael's. Total time.. about 30 minutes (I was very picky about the placement of the letters!!!)

These Martha Stewart Crafts makes these great adhesive stencils that you can stick right onto the glass surface and paint and reuse!

I chose to use Martha Stewart Crafts glass paint in opaque

Start by cleaning the glass completely with alcohol to remove all stickers and dirt. Chose your adhesive designs and apply how desired to glass.

Using my Martha Stewart crafts dappers (sensing a theme here) I applied the paint onto the stencils.
Once I let dry completely over night.. I sprayed glass with a sealing spray which can be purchased at any craft store.

I can't show you the final product until later this month.. but it turned out awesome!! Hope you can find some fun way to paint some glass :o)

Planning a Party

I am in the process of creating & executing all the paper products and decorations for an upcoming party.  I can't give too many details until after it, since it is a surprise and the customer follows me! Quick everyone think it may be them!!! It's approaching quickly so invitations are created, sent out, and RSVP's have started to come back! Next up is the decorations... Below are steps when planning a party!

STEP 1: BUDGET
First thing is first.. decide if your funds allow for you to spend extra for a party. If you have been saving or can splurge on this event, make a budget for how much you would like to spend. This depends on location, drinks, food, decorations, and optional thank you gifts.

STEP 2: LOCATIONS & DATES
Think about an ideal place you would like to throw your shindig! Depending on what kind of party/event it is depends where you may be looking. Lots of places book 2-6 month's in advanced, so make sure you keep that in mind.  Once you find a location that fits into your budget pick a date that fits which the place and your schedule!

STEP 3: GUEST LIST & INVITES
This is one of the hardest things to do. You don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by forgetting them or not inviting them.  The above chart is a little more useful with a bigger event such as a wedding.. but you get the picture! Make sure to keep your budget it check and don't invite people emotionally! Create invitations or use social media to invite your guests! Make sure to include a RSVP date for regrets, especially if you are holding it at a location that requires head counts.

STEP 4: MENUS & DRINKS
Usually about 2 weeks before the party, if you are holding it at a location; you will pick the final menu.  This depends on your event, for example: BRIDAL SHOWER you may want to do sit down lunches or 25th BIRTHDAY PARTY may chose to do appetizers and picky foods! Also, you need to decide bar limits if you chose to do alcohol.  One thing I am doing is bar tickets good for one or two drinks on me in order to control the bar tab.

STEP 5: DECORATIONS & FINAL DETAILS
If you chose a theme you may want to purchase your decorations starting right away so you don't blow your whole budget at once! For me I'm getting artsy and making a lot of mine.  You also need to think if you are making/bringing your own cake-desserts.  This are important part of birthday parties. Don't forget little details such as candles, table clothes, centerpieces!

STEP 6: HAVE FUN
Most importantly, HAVE FUN at the party. You planned the whole thing, down to every detail so you may be stressed that day.  Take even 5 minutes to just step back and take it all in! You did it. Everyone's having fun, so now YOU need to also!

Good Luck.. Let me know if you are in the process of planning a party too
