Wedding Weekend in Georgetown - Arlington VA

If you live on the east coast then this weekend you spent bracing for the dreaded Hurricane Florence. If you live in an area affected, I'm praying for ya'll! Living in PA we were not affected, but are expected to get the rain this week. However, we were suppose to travel to VA to a wedding. Tuesday last week, the couple was forced to change the venue of their wedding to a northern city in VA- Arlington. Let me just start by saying how awesome this couple is. They literally changed a whole wedding in about three days- and everything was beautiful!

We left PA on Friday afternoon since Joey was getting picked up from school from my parents. On the way down we stopped at a brewery for a drink right outside of Arlington. We met up with the groom, who Joe went to high school with and some other friends. While at the brewery, Joe got stung by a bee, and we didn't know if he was actually allergic to it- so that was a mini panic. But everything turned out fine. We went into Arlington and had dinner with our friends Courtney and Ryan at the CraftHouse before checking into our hotel

We got the loaded tots, and pretzel with beer cheese to start along with a flight of beers!

Saturday morning, Joe and I slept in until 8:00am!!! and then got ready and headed to brunch. We went to Clyde's in Georgetown which was right over the bridge from our hotel.
We started off with a mimosa and bloody mary and the complimentary coffee cake.

I got the biscuits in gravy with runny egg and Joe got the croque-madame. Both were delicious!

After brunch we walked around Georgetown and I of course found the Lilly Pulitzer store. They were so super nice and even helped me try to find a dress for an upcoming wedding next year! If you are a Lilly fan, I definitely suggesting stopping in and seeing these ladies!

We did a little more shopping and decided to walk along the canal they are reconstructing. We stumbled along these houses I could just stare at all day. I loved the brick patch and beautiful architecture. He headed back to the hotel around 1:30 to start getting ready for the wedding!

The ceremony and reception were held at the Marriot Keybridge. The ceremony was held on the 14th Floor with had all glass windows and overlooked the river and you could see the Washington Monument and Capital Building in the distance. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding, party, or whatever it may be! It was gorgeous and the view could not be beat! The cocktail hour and reception was held downstairs in one of their ballrooms and again- was so dang nice!

My favorite part of the night was the ice cream sandwiches from Wonderment Bake Shoppe and Creamery. I had the Tiramisu and friends- it was wonderful!

We had such a great time and loved hanging out with friends we don't see that often! Congrats to Pat and Kristen and hope you have fun traveling around Italy!

Sunday morning we all had breakfast at the hotel restaurant before saying our goodbyes and heading home. It was such a nice weekend!
