DIY Diaper Cake

Hey everyone! As some of you may know, I plan parties on the side for friends, family and actually some complete strangers! My latest party is a Baby Boy Whale themed baby shower. It was so much fun working with the family since it is their first grandchild and they love everything the beach and nautical.  This was straight up my alley doing something like this, so of course I jumped on board (no pun intended haha)
One of their requests was a diaper cake.  I realized it was super easy to make, and enjoyed adding the beachy accents to it

What you need:

12in cake board

50 diapers

ribbon

rubber bands

paper clips

accents or flowers

I chose some blue striped ribbon and sisal rope with starfish accents

Step 1: Begin by rolling one diaper as the core and secure with a rubber band.

 Step 2: Using about 5 diapers lay them on top of each other like pictured below 

 Step 3: Wrap the diapers around the core and secure with a rubber band

 Step 4: Repeat step 2 & 3 until cake board is filled to your liking

 Step 5: Begin step 1 and continue with step 2&3 for the additional layers

 Step 6: Using wide ribbon cover rubber bands. Secure ribbon in back with paper clip so you don't damage any diapers with glue.

Step 7: Add accents onto the cake 

Super easy and makes a great gift!
