Tips on Storing Winter Clothes

This weekend, I had enough of the bulky, scratchy and heavy clothes in my closet. I decided to pack them away for good and with doing that it would bring the warm weather.. well it worked for about 1.5 days and the cool temps were back with rain. lots of rain. But hey! At least it's not snow right!

Here are some tips for storing all those bulky things and make way for your linens and breezy items!

Storage:
~ Purchase bins like these to pack away everything.
~ For bulky sweaters purchase vacuum plastic bags to store them in.
~ Group like things together. Keep sweaters in one bin and shoes in another.
~ Label what is in the bins. There is nothing I hate more then rummaging through a bin looking for a shoe or sweater and it's in the last bin you check.
~ Add moth balls to the bottom and middle of your storage, especially if you have wool or cashmere.

Folding & Packing:
~ Remove all spots and stains before packing for the season.
~ Make sure everything is folded as neatly as possible to avoid wrinkles.
~ Always keep real fur hung or get it professionally stored. (real fur needs to be kept at specific climate control depending on the type)
~ For boots, either invest in some inserts to keep them formed or simply use tissue paper.
